Hi there,
A holiday in Iceland offers you the chance to experience Iceland’s famous hot thermal springs, amazing geysers, northern lights and active volcanoes.
Iceland tourism is truly an amazing and unique experience which is why Iceland tourism draws so many visitors to this wonderful place located south of Greenland.
If you’re planning a trip to Iceland for the first time, a great starting point to your holiday can be the capital Reykjavik which lies in the route known as The Golden Circle.
The Golden Circle route is the main draw of Iceland tourism as the most popular destinations and attractions are located in this area.
The Golden Circle main destinations include:
* Þingvellir or Thingvellir National Park is a protected area where you can enjoy outdoors activities such as camping.
* The spectacular Gullfoss waterfall
* The valley of Haukadalur is home to one of the most popular Geyser, the hot spring of Geysir.
Best time for Iceland Tourism
Traveling during the off-season is perhaps the best time to enjoy Iceland especially if you want to enjoy back country skiing and glacier snowmobiling.
Therefore, early September to January (excluding Christmas break) is a great time to enjoy Iceland tourism as flights, hotel, and snow rental prices are considerably slashed.
If you decide to travel to Iceland during this time, the only thing to be aware of it’s that most tourist attractions such as museums do close during the off-season as Iceland tourism is relatively quite.
Tip
Visit Iceland during October and November for a better chance to see the Northern Lights.
If traveling to Iceland during winter, be in the know that you only get 5 hours of daylight approximately so get an early start on the day to make the most of it.
