Planning a trip to Portland Oregon to sample the local craft beers?

I visited Portland early this week to sample Portland’s famous brews and visit its renowned breweries. After a week-long trip, one thing I can be testament of is that you won’t find a larger variety of pubs and brews anywhere in the US, not even in Denver and Chicago!

When it comes to number of microbreweries, no other city in the US or the world comes close to the city of Portland!

There is no doubt that visiting Portland breweries is one of the most popular fun things to do in Portland Oregon, and all breweries in Portland are great in their own way which makes it hard to pick my favorites.

However, if you're planning to visit Portland for a few days only you'll want to know the best microbreweries in Portland to visit, so to help you out, I'm listing below some of the best :

BridgePort Brewing Company

BridgePort Brewing Company is located at 1313 NW Marshall Street in the Pearl District.

BridgePort is, without a doubt, one of the most popular local breweries in Portland and known for its fine crafted ales.

Popular ales include Café Negro, which is brewed with roasted barley a and chocolate malt; and Indian Pale Ale which is fermented in a cask and blended with five hop varieties

Hair of the Dog Brewing Company is located at 61 SE Yamhill Street in East Portland neighborhood, just a short drive from the downtown area.

Hair of the Dog Brewing Company is known for unusual beer styles and brewing techniques such as re-fermenting brews to mature like wines.

Widmer Brothers Brewery is located at 929 North Russell Street (just a short drive from the downtown area).

Widmer Brothers Brewery is one of the best known brewers in town and one of the best places in Portland to sample traditional German beer such as the popular Hefeweizen and Sunburn Summer Brew, which is one of their most popular seasonal brews.
