Best Honeymoon Destinations: Overview

Newlyweds, normally, fall into two categories, adventurous couples and romantic couples.

Adventurous couples prefer an adventure type honeymoon that involves doing anything from long treks, hiking on the foot of volcanoes and scuba diving tours such as the diving tours on the Great Barrier Reef near the city of Cairns Queensland Australia.

Romantic couples are after a relaxing holiday that consists of relaxing by the beach, enjoying a bit of pampering at the hotel spa and lounging by the hotel premises. Places such as Florida, Georgia and California are popular places for a relaxing honeymoon.

Having said this, most newlywed couples would agree that the best compromise would be a honeymoon vacation that includes a mixture of fun adventurous activities as well as relaxing activities.

I mentioned earlier that Las Vegas, Dominican Republic and Hawaii were three of the most best honeymoon destinations.

However, there are so many popular holiday destinations to choose from, and where you go depends on your budget and the time of the year you are planning your honeymoon.

For instance, if you live in the northern hemisphere (i.e. United States, United Kingdom and Europe) and are planning on tying the knot in June or July, Australia has some of the best vacation spots for newlyweds looking to enjoy plenty of sun and water activities.

Like Australia, South America, New Zealand and parts of South Africa are also located in the southern hemisphere.

South America offers plenty of vacation spots for honeymooners looking for an adventure type honeymoon such as:

- Amazon tours in Brazil
- Archeological tours in Peru
- Trekking tours in Salta Argentina
- Whale watching tours in Cape Town South Africa
- Boat trips along the majestic Milford Sound in Invercargill New Zealand.

Two of the best destinations for honeymooners in my opinion that offer value for money, plenty of fun and relaxing activities in pristine and beautiful scenery are as follows:

Costa Rica

Costa Rica truly offers honeymooners plenty of things to do for an exotic honeymoon in Costa Rica, jam-packed with adventurous activities such as canopy tours through the forest and walking tours of the capital city of San Jose Costa Rica, as well as secluded places where you and your partner can simply kick-back in complete serenity

Malaysia

Malaysia is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations for honeymooners on a budget.

A honeymoon in Malaysia includes visiting the popular capital city of Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysian islands of Langkawi Island and Pangkor Laut Island where you can relax on beautiful and exotic beaches.
