It costs around $16 to enter Mt. Pulag national park, and once inside the park you’ll have to hire a local tour guide for your duration of your stay in the park. To give an idea of prices, a local tour guide for up to seven people costs roughly $12 (500 Philippine pesos) for 2 days and 1 night, which is fairly inexpensive but you can only stay in the park for a maximum of 4 days and 3 nights.

Toji Temple

Taman Park

Taman Park, also known as Mini Indonesia Indah, is another of the places to visit in Jakarta Indonesia where everyone can have a fun day out.

Taman Park is one of the largest green areas in the city and a great place to unwind, do some bird-spotting and enjoy a picnic while taking in the lovely scenery.

The park also boasts the popular Indonesia Miniature Park where you can get a nice scaled overview of places in Indonesia such as Sumatra and Borneo. Within the park, you’ll also find many museums, an IMAX theatre and an Aquarium.

Jakarta Old Town

Jakarta Old Town is another of the places to visit in Jakarta Indonesia where you’ll find many more interesting tourist sights such as the Jakarta Kota Station and Jakarta Old Port.

Jakarta’s old port – Sunda Kelapa - is a great place to visit in itself because of the 12th century wooden ships and the port’s lookout tower, which offers great views of the port and the area around.

Ancol Dreamland is located on the north coast of Jakarta overlooking the beautiful Java Sea, and it's a massive complex boasting a theme park, a Sea World, an aquarium and a fun Gondola cable car system which you can use to get around the recreation park and enjoy great views.

1. Bangkok National Museum

If you’re visiting Thailand looking to learn about Thai culture and old Thai traditions, the National Museum is one of the best places for this.

You can easily spend half a day at this attraction alone visiting the different buildings and exhibition halls, and the best thing is that guided tours are free of charge and are offered in different languages.

2. Bangkok’s Chinatown

Bangkok’s Chinatown is definitely one of the 10 must see places in Bangkok, especially if you’re looking to enjoy a bit of gambling, gold and antique shopping.

The Chinatown in Bangkok, is without a doubt, one of the best place in the city to get some good deals on gold as there are hundreds of gold shops on this district alone.

9. Museum of Imaging Technology

The Museum of Imaging Technology is located at the science faculty of Chulalongkorn University, and it's not far from Jim Thompson House.

The museum is open to everyone and it’s worth checking out if you’re in the area as it houses interesting exhibits on photo techniques.

10. Lumphini Park

Lumphini Park is located adjacent the Bangkok Public Library, and it’s one of the few green areas in Bangkok where you can relax and unwind and get away from the large crowds.

You can enjoy a stroll, a picnic by the grass or hire a paddleboat and enjoy a fun trip along the lake.

Lumphini Park is also a great place to catch and join special events such as ceremonies performed by the statue of Rama IV, as well as morning Thai Chi exercises.

1. Tienanmen Square

The largest public square in the world, Tienanmen Square is the soul and heart of the city and one of the top 10 must see places in Beijing.

The square itself boats many interesting attractions and landmarks such as:

- the Chairman Mao's Mausoleum
- the Monument to the Peoples Heroes
- the Great Hall of the People
- the Museum of History where you can learn about Chinese history, the Chinese Revolution and see fine examples of Chinese artifacts.

To appreciate how breathtaking Tienanmen Square truly is, head to the top floor of the Great Hall to enjoy the amazing views of the square.

Tiananmen Square is also the venue of most major events in Beijing such as National Day when the Square is decorated with spectacular and beautiful floral decorations.

2. Forbidden City

Beijing boasts another world title – the Forbidden City (pictured) – the largest and oldest palace in the world.

The Forbidden City is adjacent Tiananmen Square and it’s another of the top 10 must see places in Beijing and one of the most historic symbols of Chinese history that you don’t want to miss immersing into.

You’d want to allow 4-5 hours of your itinerary at the Forbidden City to explore each corner of the complex, as well as the inside of the Royal Palaces to see where the queen and king lived.

3. Fragrant Hills Park

Fragrant Hills Park is located outside of the heart of Beijing, around 30 minutes drive west of Tienanmen Square, and it’s a great day trip from the city, especially if you want to escape the large crowds.

Fragrant Hills Park is one of the most amazing public parks in Beijing, being located at the foot of the mountains. This park offers a chance to soak in amazing natural scenery and a few tourist sights such as old pavilions and pagodas like the Pagoda of the Zongjing Monastery.

From the park, you can hike up to the top of peak, or better still, you can take the cable car to the top to enjoy breathtaking views along the way.

If you’re visiting Fragant Hills, you may also add to your itinerary a visit to the nearby:

- Biyun Temple (Temple of the Azure Cloud)
- Wofosi Temple (Temple of the Reclining Buddha)
- The Beijing Botanical Garden.

4. Wangfujing Street

Wangfujing Street is located just a few minutes walk from the Forbidden City, and it’s one of the best places in Beijing to shop til you drop!

If you’ve been to Oxford Street in London, Wangfujing Street is the most famous shopping street in the city and also the busiest pedestrian street.

On this street, you’ll find all the most renowned department stores such as Beijing Department Store and Shengxifu Hat Store.

Wangfujing Street is also one of the top 10 must see places in Beijing because of the Night Market where you can enjoy all kinds of food tastings and Chinese delicacies such as fried insects.

5. Zhongguancun Street

Designer clothes aren’t the only thing Beijing is known for. If you’re into your gadgets, or are a tech buff, there is no better place to buy electronics than on the technology hub - Zhongguancun Street – located in Haidian District.

In Zhongguancun Street, you’ll find many small shops, the amazing Hongguancun Plaza shopping mall, and the popular Dinghao and Zhonghai electronic markets where you can get some seriously cheap electronic items such a memory cards and digital cameras.

6. Yonghe Temple

Known as the ‘Lama Temple’, Yonghe Temple is one of the best examples of Buddhist/Chinese temples in China.

Yonghe Temple is located in the heart of the city, yet it feels like miles away at the same time because of the peaceful atmosphere.

Yonghe Temple is one of the most under-the-radar attractions in Beijing but if you’re looking to see a genuine Buddhist temple, this is one not to miss!

You’ll be able to relax in complete peacefulness, while marvelling and exploring the temple’s multiple halls such as the Harmony and Peace Hall where you’ll find bronze statues of Buddha similar to the ones in Hong Kong, though not as big as the Great Buddha statue in Japan.

7. Beijing Bell and Drum Towers

Beijing Bell and Drum Towers lie not from the Forbidden City and are another important historic symbol in Chinese history and a fantastic attraction not to be missed.

Before clocks were invented, bells and drums were the way to keep time in ancient China. Both towers are located opposite each other and from their top floors you can get really good views of Beijing.

Apart from the views and learning about the Chinese time system, you can see the world’s largest drum and attend the Drumming performance at the Drum Tower. The performance is truly awe inspiring!

8. Beijing Zoo

The Beijing Zoo is located just outside of Beijing’s city center and it’s a joy to visit, especially if you’re traveling with small kids.

You can spend a fun day at the zoo seeing all kinds of animals such as the popular Giant Pandas and other endangered animals such as Siberian tigers.

There is also a massive statue of a rock-carved Tiger which offers a great photo opportunity, and you can also enjoy fun dolphin and sea lion shows at the zoo at the ocean hall.

9. Acrobats Show

A visit to Beijing wouldn’t be complete without attending one of the Beijing cultural attractions such as the Acrobatics Show at Tiandi Theatre or Cahoyang Theatre.

If you’re looking for fun things to do in Beijing the evening, attending the acrobats show has to be one of them.

You’ll see flying acrobats performing some of the most daring acts you’ll ever see such as ten acrobats riding a single bicycle.

10. Ming Dynasty Tombs Site

The Ming Dynasty Tombs Site is located in the Changping district, around 45 minutes drive north of the heart of Beijing.

The Ming Tombs Site is another of the top 10 must see places in Beijing and an excellent day trip opportunity from Beijing proper.

At the Site, you’ll see a huge stone memorial archway, various pavilions with stone statues and the tombs, though only three are open for public-viewing.

The Dingling Tomb is one of them, and at the Site you’ll find the Dingling Museum, which houses all of the artifacts excavated from the tomb such as a dragon robe and a gold crown amongst other artifacts.

Victoria Harbour gets the number one spot on my list of top 10 places to see in Hong Kong because of the stunning panoramic views you get of Hong Kong Island (pictured) impressive skyline, especially at night when all the buildings are lighted up.

At night, you can also watch the amazing Symphony of Lights event from the harbour..

Victoria Harbour is also a great place to relax while seeing all kind ships and boats, and the best thing about this attraction is that it won’t cost you a penny!

2. Victoria Peak (The Peak)

Victoria Peak is located across Victoria Harbour on the Island of Hong Kong and it’s on my list of top 10 places to see in Hong Kong because of the memorable and breathtaking views you'll get of Victoria Harbour, the surrounding islands and central Hong Kong.

Apart from enjoying the fascinating views, The Peak boast a shopping mall - Peak Tower -, restaurants and a beautiful Chinese style garden – Victoria Peak Garden – which is one of the best vantage points on The Peak.

You can access The Peak by bus or taxi, but riding on the funicular is what makes the trip to The Peak memorable, the views you’ll get along the way are priceless!

3. Hong Kong Museum of History

The Hong Kong Museum of History should be high on your list of thing to do in Hong Kong, even if you’re not a fun of museums.

This museum is simply brilliant and one of the best places to learn and get an insight of Hong Kong’s history.

This place is for everyone, and war buffs will definitely enjoy visiting the Hong Kong Museum because of the sections on the Opium Wars and the British occupation.

4. Lantau Island

Lantau Island is one of the largest of the Hong Kong Islands and one of the top 10 places to see in Hong Kong because of the many fun attractions such as Hong Kong Disneyland and the Npong Ping cable car.

Apart from fun attractions like Disneyland, Lantau Island also boast many other tourist sights and things to see such as:

-Po Lin Monastery & Tian Tan Buddha – home to many Buddha statues and the giagantic Big Buddha bronze statue measuring over 80 feet high.

-Tai O town – home to 300 year-old stilt houses and fishing boats

-Tung Chung Fort – home to old granite cannons and arched gateways

-Trappist Haven Monastery –famous for producing the Trappist Milk

-Cheun Sha Beach – longest beach in Lantau Island

-Sunset Peak – the second largest peak in Hong Hong Kong

5. Nathan Road & Temple Street

Nathan Road & Temple Street are located just a short walk from the Hong Kong Museum of History and are two places not to miss in HK, especially if you’re visiting Hong Kong exclusively for the shopping.

Nathan Road boasts hundreds of small shops, markets and shopping malls, as well as lovely eateries where you can try out the famous dimsum and other delicacies.

Temple Street also boasts many shops and eateries but the beauty of this street is that many of these shops are hidden on the back roads.

Temple Street is also the place to come if you want to buy traditional Chinese medicines, and enjoy a bit of night shopping at the famed night markets.

6. Hong Kong Observatory

The Hong Kong Observatory is adjacent the Hong Kong Museum of History and if you are visiting this museum for the educational aspect, you’ll find that the observatory is just as educational and worthy of a visit.

The observatory offers guided tours but you need to arrange them in advance. The tours last a good two hours during which you will learn about the technology behind weather forecast and how forecasts are made. A really cool place to visit, if you ask me!

7. Old Stanley Police Station

The Old Stanley Police Station is located on the southern shore of Hong Kong Island and it was built by the British. The Old Stanley Police Station is a great example of colonial architecture in HK and it is another of the top 10 places to see in Hong Kong being also the oldest police station.

8. Causeway Bay

Causeway Bay is located directly across Victoria Harbour on the northern shore of Hong Kong island and it’s one of the best places in the island to find shopping opportunities and vibrant nightlife.

The bay is home to the Wan Chai ‘Entertainment’ district which boasts a red-light district as well as strip joints.
